5 QWOC Artists About to TAKE OVER

You will see a LOT of posts from us about queer artists because there are tons of them putting out amazing music. We really expanding in the music industry and it is a beautiful thing that I am extremely excited for.

1. Kelow Latesha

I LOVE this woman. She's talented, eccentric, and focused. Kelow hails from the DMV and has been steadily growing as an artist for nearly 10 years. This is her most recent video off her new project, "TSA," which dropped on April 23, 2019. As a rapper, her bars are often comical and clever, slipping past if you're not paying attention. As an artist, she is fiercely unique and refuses to be like anybody else or take no for an answer.

2. Siena Liggins

This artist is definitely a major popstar to those of us who are already fans. Her music is gay AF and it's absolutely lovely. She's a talented singer and her biggest goal is to put out music that just makes women feel good. In Detroit, she's been around the scene doing awesome live shows and her reign is finally starting to expand. Catch her at some music festivals soon where she will be, as she frequently says "singing to someone's daughter."

3. Nimic Revenue

Signed to Def Jam, this mega-talented rapper/singer just put out a new project called "Lifeline" on June 28, 2019. Discovered for her unique voice and insane musical ability, she was plucked from Minnesota at 20 years old and is now destined for stardom. Already having toured with her labelmate DaniLeigh, she's sure to be adding more shows and performances to her future lineup. Catch her live out here soon and listen to "Lifeline" in the meantime!

4. 070 Shake

I mean, some may argue that being in a song and video with DJ Khaled indicates that she's already taken over. I, however, believe she is going to be MUCH bigger than even that. Part of the musical collective called 070, she is the standout due to her raspy voice and subtly emotionally-tinged lyrics. Having worked with Kanye West, Pusha T, and Kid Cudi as well, the industry is definitely already recognizing her talent. Her debut album, "Modus Vivendi" is scheduled for release later this year, but in the meantime check out her latest EP, "Glitter," out now on all platforms.

5. Kodie Shane

Making music ever since she was a teenager, Kodie has been steadily gaining recognition with each new performance and music release. Going from opening for Syd on the Always Never Home Tour in 2017, to being her own headliner on the 2019 Young HeartThrob Tour, her star is blazing fast. Her recent debut album, "Young HeartThrob" got her a lot of attention and we are sure to be seeing a lot more from her soon.

Are you a fan of these dope women? If you weren't, hope you are now! Be on the lookout for more of our lists featuring amazing queer artists.
